Aamir Khan’s Dangal BEATS Dhoom 3 to become the HIGHEST non-holiday Monday grosser:
We revealed to you a while back that Aamir Khan‘s Dangal has become the highest first Monday grosser of 2016. Dangal had beaten Sultan, Rustom, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay to top the list. However, after analysing the figures once again, we came to know that Aamir Khan’s film has also become the HIGHEST non-holiday Monday grosser. Yes, this record was earlier held by Dhoom 3, however Dangal has overtaken it!
For those of you who don’t know Aamir Khan’s Dangal had earned Rs 25.48 crore on its first Monday. This has easily beaten the first Monday collection of Dhoom 3, which was Rs 21.71 crore. Seems that Dangal is beating every record set by Aamir. However, both these films have not been able to match up to the first Monday collection of Krrish 3, which stands at Rs 35.91 crore. The only reason why we can’t compare Dangal with Krrish 3 is that the latter had a holiday (Diwali) on its first Monday.
Meanwhile, at the domestic box office, Dangal has collected Rs 132.43 crore in 4 days. The people have loved the movie and have been raving about it on social media. The fantastic story line and the amazing performances is what people are talking about on the streets. With this positive word of mouth publicity, we are sure Dangal will continue to rock the box office and earn Rs 180 crore by the end of the first week.
In the overseas market too, Dangal has collected Rs 76.16 crore in 5 days. The word of mouth publicity is pretty strong in the International market too! And so we guess that the movie will easily touch the Rs 100 crore mark by the end of the first week. Anyway, share with us your thoughts about Dangal in the comments section below!
