Is McDonalds breakfast wrap healthy? As we know, fast food restaurants are usually synonymous with high-calorie and high-fat foods that can contribute to weight gain. As well as being practical, people turn to fast food because they are fast, convenient, and easy to reach when you are hungry.
But fast food like McDonald’s is considered a food that has more bad content than beneficial nutrients. But is it true? Actually, they offer several healthy breakfast options even though most of them are still high in calories, fatty, and sodium. But if that’s your only option for starting the day, it’s good to know the menu before you sit there and enjoy your breakfast.
McDonalds Breakfast Healthy Options.
Based on references from various sources, McDonald’s has four of the top healthy menus that can be your breakfast options.
#1 Fruit ‘N Yogurt Parfait.

Besides a bowl of warm oats, this menu comes with red, green apples, cranberries, and raisins.
#3 Egg White Delight McMuffin.
Next, they offer the Egg White Delight which consists of egg whites combined with lean Canadian bacon on top of a whole-grain English muffin. Although this option has a low calorie and fat content, it has a high sodium content. Therefore, limit your salt intake to less than 1,500 to 2,300 milligrams a day. In a serving of Egg White Delight, it contains 260 calories, 30 grams of carbohydrates, 4 grams of fiber, 8 grams of fat, 750 mg of sodium, and 18 grams of protein.
When compared to Egg McMuffin which has 300 calories, 12 grams of fat with 6 grams of saturated fat, 760 mg of sodium, 30 grams of carbohydrates, 2 grams of fiber, and 17 grams of protein, Egg White Delight is slightly better.
#4 Sausage Burrito.

Having calories equivalent to EggMcMuffin, this menu has 16 grams of fat with 6 grams of saturated fat, 26 grams of carbohydrates, 1 gram of fiber, 13 grams of protein. Other Breakfast Options That Are Not So Healthy.
While McDonalds has some healthy breakfast options, there are a few other options that don’t seem to suit you. They may be delicious, but you should avoid ordering this menu if you want to take care of your health. For example, the Big Breakfast menu counts 750 calories.
Whereas a more complete menu such as Big Breakfast with Hotcake has a higher content, consisting of 1,340 calories, 64 grams of fat with 25 grams of saturated fat, 2,090 mg of sodium, 155 grams of carbohydrates, and 35 grams of protein. It includes warm biscuits, sausages, scrambled eggs, french fries, and hotcakes with additional syrup.
Even if you share it with one of your friends, it still has a lot more than you need. In one meal, the Big Breakfast with Hotcake will give you 67% of the total daily average of 2000 calories for an American adult. Besides, if you want to have a healthy breakfast, avoid foods that contain sausage or bacon because they are high in calories, and have saturated fat. So it’s much better to forget about this menu and go for that parfait.
Is McDonald’s Breakfast Bad for You?
You could say yes because most of the menu has a high-calorie content. Yogurt Parfait and Maple Oatmeal may look the healthiest with low calories, but they are still high in sugar and low in fiber. It’s not good for your health if consumed too often.
That’s better than a serving of Big Breakfast with Hotcakes which can cover almost all of your calories in one meal. But again, this is not the best breakfast option. It’s a good idea to make homemade parfaits or oatmeal with fresh fruit to provide you with a nutritionally balanced breakfast.

Some people may think that convenience and practicality are more important than health. If you are too tired in a situation where you are very busy and can’t prepare everything for your morning, some breakfast options from McDonalds can be an occasional option without breaking your healthy diet.
But it doesn’t mean you are allowed to consume it every morning. Feed your nutritional needs with whole foods like vegetables, fruits, and fresh meat to support your health instead of waiting at the drive-through for sandwiches and biscuits.
Morning time should start with something healthy, that includes breakfast and light exercise. If McDonald’s is the only place, be careful about choosing the menu to keep your calorie counts under control. McDonald’s is just one of many fast-food restaurants that offer similar meals at the same or higher calories. So making your breakfast at home with fresh ingredients before starting the activity is the healthiest option.
